    About the iOS 18.1.1 Update

If you are already running iOS 18, it is recommended that you update to the newest version of iOS 18.1.1. This update includes security patches that are critical.

Also, as our service winds down, the incompatibility between iOS 18 and Sayko.net is no longer relevant.

  • Warning

    Do NOT upgrade to iOS/iPadOS 18.0 – 18.1

Due to some bugs in the Mail app included in iOS 18.x, if you upgrade your devices to iOS/iPad OS 18.0 thru 18.1, you may not be able to retrieve any new messages using Apple’s Mail.app.

iOS/iPadOS 18.0 introduced a IMAP prefix bug that will not load the Inbox correctly.

iOS/iPadOS 18.0.1 introduced the IMAP IDLE-DONE bug that will make the server kick your device off prematurely before checking for the contents of the Inbox.

iOS/iPadOS 18.1 fixes the IMAP prefix bug, but continues to manifest the IDLE-DONE bug.

    Symptom:
The Mail.app will show “Connecting…” for a long time but will not refresh the content of the Inbox, may or may not load read/unread flags, but will not load any new messages. It will also cease to load any old messages even if you scroll to the bottom.

    IMPORTANT!! In-house E-mail Service Sunset

The Sayko.net in-house e-mail Service is set to sunset in December 2, 2024. All users will lose connection to the server at that time and will no longer be able to send/receive/retrieve any of their Sayko.net e-mail stored on our servers. Please begin archiving important messages directly on your device by moving the messages to a folder under “On My Computer” or exporting them to another archival application.

Please Backup Each and All Devices before Major Apple Updates

Apple is releasing major updates to Mac OS, iOS, iPad OS, Watch OS, and TV OS throughout the month of September. Each of these updates will bring new features and more security to your devices BUT also new bugs. Some of these updates may BREAK YOUR DEVICE. Please make a backup of each device and make sure of the integrity of those backups (i.e. they can be restored) BEFORE attempting any major OS updates. This is a good time to at least verify that automatic OS updates are TURNED OFF.

Sayko.net users have been receiving fake e-mails to encourage them to reset their Sayko.net e-mail passwords purporting that they are expiring. This is a phishing scam! Do not click any links in these e-mails. If the Sayko.net administrator must change your password, you will be contacted in-person.

If you have clicked on the link or have gone through the process of entering your password into a fake website, notify ME immediately by phone!
